Temple of the sun
The Sun Temple, facing east in Ranakpur, is exceptional for the iconography and unusual motifs on the wall. It is made of white limestone and has been decorated following the classic Nagara style. It consists of a shrine crowned by Shikhara and preceding this shrine, there is an octagonal shaped mandapa which has six verandas and pillars with exquisite carvings and sculpted toranas.
Jain temple of Chaturmukha
Ranakpur is far from the hustle and bustle of Udaipur city life and Chaturmukha is located in the lush greenery of the Aravalli range of Ranakpur. This is with exquisite carvings on the marble. Which he majestically designed with shikhara, distinctive domes, turret from the slope of the hilly areas. There are beautiful sculptures that have been carved out of a single marble rock designed with 108 head snakes with numerous tails. This temple is designed with four faces like Chaturmukha. It is dedicated to TirthankaraRishabhanatha. Others are also found in the complex area of this temple. These are Neminath and Parasnath. Sun and Amba Devi Temple are located a short distance from these temples in the same complex. Throughout the year a huge number of pilgrims and devotees come to this. Amba Devi is the temple of the mother goddess.
